Each June the Candler Field Museum hosts Vintage Day! Fun for the whole family, Vintage Day features vintage airplanes, cars, and tractors. Visitors will enjoy watching the airplanes fly in and taking part in an old-fashioned cake walk. Kids will love the candy drop, as Doug Davis’ famous fly by is recreated, including dropping Babe Ruth candy bars out of a plane for the kids.
In the spring Candler Field Museum hosts its annual Aviation Career Day, with the goal of sparking interest in aviation for all youth in attendance. This free event is open to all students. Stay tuned for more details on our next Aviation Career Day in the spring of 2019.
Candler Field Museum hosts an annual black-tie gala and silent auction to benefit the museum. This event is the largest fundraising event of the year, and one of the biggest social events annually in Pike County.
The Candler Field Museum’s annual Veteran’s Day celebration is hosted each November and includes patriotic music, military displays, a raffle, airplanes and flybys, and food. Admission is free, and the event is open to the public.
With our 3,000 ft. grass airstrip, onsite restaurant, and fuel farm, Peach State Aerodrome has all the amenities you need to host your own fly-in.
Barnstormer’s Grill & Event Center located at Peach State Aerodrome has 7,000 sq. ft. of meeting space for catered events in addition to the onsite restaurant, which is open Tuesdays – Sundays. Reach out to schedule your next event
